How to take care of thin hair so as to prevent hair loss - My Golden Rules for longer Hair Sustenance (guys)
Hair loss is a common problem these days and something that can't be neglected because sooner or later it starts accelerating. According to an article on bbc.com,
"We now know that baldness is caused by a potent break-down product of testosterone, dihydrotestosterone (DHT). In the womb, the hormone plays an important role in the development of male genitalia. In susceptible adults, it makes hair follicles shrink. As DHT works its magic the long, so-called “terminal” hairs on a man’s head are transformed into short, soft “vellus” hairs like those on the heads of babies."
However, in my long quest to find a solution to this problem, I have tried many solutions. Some of which have worked positively. There is one thing though. Balding is a natural process and cant be stopped unless you go for medical regrowth which is a bit costly. You can still go for it if it matters a lot. Personally, I believe that 'natural sustenance' is always the best way and found the following methods to be highly useful for longer hair sustenance:
My 5 Golden rules for longer hair sustenance:
- Regularly wash hair with a mild shampoo. Collection of Dirt and oil leaves no space for thin hair which have weak roots.
- After hair wash, don't rub towel on head like mad, instead gently touch the towel so that it soaks away the water.
- Don't scratch at all!
- If possible in your region, try to find a herbal shampoo that does not contain "Sodium Laureth Sulphate" chemical. This one is used in shampoos for lather formation but is harmful to hair.
- Keep haircut short to avoid breakage and pulling of hair.
Initial days of following these points might still lead to hair loss and generally it is not possible to completely stop hair fall in case of thin hair and there will still be hair fall. But the main difference this brings is the reduction in the difference between hair growth and hair fall which leads to a slower process of hair shedding and recession of the hair line.
